In determining the community spouse resource allowance on and after 1/1/97, the community spouse is permitted to retain resources in an amount equal to the greater of the following $74,820 or the amount of the spousal share up to $89,280. The spousal share is the amount equal to one half of the total value of the countable resources of the couple as of date of the first continous period of institutionalization of the spouse after 9/30/89 **Please note that there are new income levels for those married Medicaid recipients at home and recieving certain services.
