Schuyler County Office for the Aging
Meal Deliverer (on-call)

SALARY$11.27/hr. plus mileage.                 LAST DATE TO FILE: August 10, 2010         
                                                                                                                   
VACANCY:  At the present time, there is one part-time, on-call position available at the Office for the Aging. 

RESIDENCY REQUIREMENT:  Candidates must have been legal residents of Schuyler or a contiguous (Chemung, Seneca, Steuben, Tompkins and Yates) county for at least one month immediately preceding the date of application.

JOB DESCRIPTION:  Assists with loading and unloading food containers and delivers meals for the Office for the Aging Nutrition Program.  Does related work as required.

TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES:
Assist with loading and unloading food containers;
Assure that food is packaged and transported in sanitary manner and maintained at proper temperature;
Maintain accurate time schedule for meal pickup and delivery;
Check containers to verify that sites receive correct food orders;
Keep vehicle clean;
Be aware of the elderly individual and the role that food plays in his or her environment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  Must possess and maintain a valid New York State Drivers license.  Must be able to follow oral and written directions.  Must be physically able to deliver individual meals and also containers of food to other sites.
